Roots Project

KHUIAsilver2United Israel Appeal has been sponsoring the Roots Project in several local Jewish day schools in Victoria for some years. The Roots Project is a program that all Year 7 students participate in as an educational tool to learn more about their family history, where their relatives were born and raised, as well as learn more about themselves as individuals.

Each Year 7 student receives an album embossed with the UIA logo for them to create a scrapbook of family history. A special message from UIA Victoria is placed in the front cover of the book to give each student an understanding of the work that UIA does in Israel and why we support this invaluable project. Once the project is completed, each student’s family history book is placed on display during a Roots Project gathering for family and friends at each Jewish day school.
