Partnership 2Gether

Through Partnership 2Gether, the Central Arava is partnered with Australia. Since 1995, this partnership has provided the Arava with financial and professional support for diverse projects in the fields of education, community and regional development. Through this reciprocal relationship with Australia, many of these projects have been funded solely by Partnership 2000. Such projects include:
A Regional Computerised Communications Centre
which enables the Arava to provide:
- community communications – linking residents in the region to the internet
- advertising of the region on the internet
- development of internet access for teachers and students of the regional high school
- while the Centre, itself, is now self-funding, Partnership 2000 continues to assist the project with funds for the computer network of the local school
Tourism Promotion
Partnership 2000 has funded a regional Tourism Department to expose Israelis in the rest of the country to the various attractions of the Arava. Over fifty families have now built B&B’s and, to date, there are 145 rooms available in the region.
Recipricol Relations
Since the inception of Partnership 2Gether, over 3,000 Australians of all ages have visited the Arava – both individually and as members of various delegations. In addition, a student delegation from the local high school has visited Australia every year since 1998.
