Hadassah Neurim is a residential youth village for students aged 14-18. The Village provides residential care and remedial education for youth at risk. In addition to personal and family issues, the youth at Hadassah Neurim face numerous learning difficulties and suffer from low self-esteem. Hadassah Neurim is their last chance to begin living a normal life and start on a path to a productive future.
The curriculum includes regular high school studies with full matriculation, as well as vocational tracks, including electronics, auto-electricity and mechanics. The school is particularly strong in the fields of sports, art, music and drama.
Unique new projects at Hadassah Neurim include: therapeutic horse-back riding for the physically disabled, a special soccer track sponsored by Maccabi Netanya, an innovative athletes’ program designed especially for the talented youngsters from Ethiopia and is now expanding to enrol new immigrants from the FSU and Israeli-born athletes.
A special reflection garden has been built at Hadassah Neurim in memory of David Hecht z”l, the Financial Controller of UIA Victoria who tragically passed away in October 2006.
